Eilidh Fulton elected student president of GCU

The results of the Glasgow Caledonian University full-time officer elections for have been revealed, with the highest ever voting turnout.
Eilidh Fulton was elected to be Student President for 2019/2020 with Moses Apiliga, Susan Docherty and Bethany Stevenson voted in as Vice Presidents.
In her winning speech, Eilidh said: “I told everyone I wouldn’t write a speech because I might jinx it.
“It was a hard week but, boy am I glad, and I want you all to know that I’m genuinely happy right now. Thank you so much.”
Eilidh spoke to Radio Caley’s Lawren Matthews on the station’s Facebook livestream of the event where she outlined her plans to get a new student’s association building, more employment on campus as well as scrapping graduation fees.
Overall, 3521 GCU students voted in the elections – the highest turnout ever at the university.
The election results were held at the University of Strathclyde’s Student Union, with results from other universities and colleges also being announced on the night.
The new full-time officer team will begin their term on the 3 June later this year.
